my 2001 dakota sport 3.9 has problems, when i am at low rpms such as coming to a stop, or backing out of a parking spot and shifting into drive, the rpm's get extremely low, sometimes so low the truck shuts off, what is going on? i have a jet stage 2 chip, could that be effecting the idle?
somebody help me out

check to see when it happens if your volts get real low
maybe the alternator or battery

My 2000 3.9 used to do that until I took it in for the emissions recall. The put a new program in the pcm, that took care of the low rpm idle and stalling in parking lots. That being said, I would guess the chip could be the problem because it messes with the PCM signals. Take the chip out for a while and see if the problem persists. If it goes away, then it was the chip. If it stays, take it in and throw a fit at the dealer (if you are still under warranty). If they give you a bunch of crap (they tried to blame my problem on my fog lights!!!) get rude with them, thats all most dealers understand.
