 Subject: solar panel for 2002 DAK

Due to my extessive travel ( 2 to 3 months at times )I was wondering if putting a small solar panel on my dash would prevent the battery from discharging while running the clock/computer or whatever ? Could a person just plug it into the lighter ?

sure, it should work just fine as long as the solar panel is in direct sunlight during the day...
you can get one at www.harborfreight.com that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I remember seeing them on Ebay awhile ago too...
The only thing you want to make sure it has is that the panel has a blocking diode to make sure the panel doesn't discharge the battery at night when there isn't any light.
