I just went to walmart and bought a set of AP3924 plugs for my 93 3.9. This is what the little computer catalog thing at walmart told me to buy.

everyone here refers to the 3923. did i buy the wrong plugs? will these work or should i get new ones before i open the package.

They will work. The 3923's are one temp range lower. Some of those here believe a cooler plug will enhance performance by running cooler. I suggest that if you switch to 3923's that you also drop in a 180 deg T-stat and gap the plugs at about 0.04 in.

Thanks for the Tstat tip. I think thats what I will do. I want to wake up my engine a bit and figured a basic tune up would be the best start. Should this be the time to switch to bigger wires and more powerful coil? I already put a KN filter in it, I want some better performance. Headers are out of the question because I dont even know where to find them, and when I find them they are costly.

I personally dont recommend a more powerful coil. But I wont get mad :) Turns out the stock coil generates 40,000 v and a spark that jumps 2 inches. Stick with it. Get nice wires. I tried the blue BELBON from Napa and I like em. Cap and rotor when you need it, ofcourse. Do a search on the ignition coil on this forum and see what the people have to say.
