Dealers cant sell warranty work so having them look you car over under warranty means nothing. Just tell them you hear an exhaust leak and your gas mileage recently dropped like 3mpg and that intermin your check engine light comes on. Then theyll be able to actually look for problems, otherwise if you just say take a look make sure its ok they cant do sht =/ Ala company policys

yea well thats what im wondering about. my truck is 5yrs old and no warranty anymore on it. so if dodge has this free replacing of cat conv etc as long as its under 80k or 8yrs old, then why dont mechanics know this and tell you so you can take it to a dealer? outside the fact that they are wanting to make money from doing work on your car , i mean.

so what you are saying is that unless i specify certain things wrong with it related to exhaust etc , which is covered , right?, then they wont do anything except replace the Cat conv., correct?

im in PA. outside philadelphia. ill do that and see what they say and do. what the hek , if they can fix it for free then they can fix it all, the stuff that will be covered anyways

Correct however be careful cause they might try to stick you with diag charges. Best bet is look under the car if your exhaust is rusted out complain about leaks and leave it at that. Alot of your exhaust is under emissions but not all (cat front pipe y pipe for sure)
