Subject: Tranny Issues With 93 Dak - V6 Magnum??

I don't know alot about trannies but I think mine might be slipping or not shifting right. It seems to take a while to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear (BTW it's automatic). I get it up to about 35 Mph and have to back off the gas in order for it to shift unless I push it till it hits about 40 - 45 Mph then it shifts. I've changed the fluid, gasket and filter and still same thing any ideas??? Also it sounds like the timing might be off, I need to get a timing light and check but sounds rough. I also know the water pump needs replaced and have the part just not the time to change it. It's got about 176,000 Miles on it.

The timing is not adjustible all the pickup in
dist does is tell injectors when to fire comp
reads crank position from crank sensor and adjusts
timing for load and throttle position.

Tune up, plugs wire cap rotor wires or a bad
sensor will make it run rough

With that many miles was the o2 ever replaced

On the trans try adjusting the TV cable by
throttle body comes in from rear on the 93 you
just push in on the square part behind the bracket
and move the cable foward to lower shift points
back to raise, be sure its not hung up or broke
have someone push the gas up and down and on
drivers side just above the trans pan watch it
move, there is also a return spring down there
that may have broke and cause that. you can see
the small hole on the TV lever where it goes than
hooks in another hole towards front of truck

Check this out
