Subject: Transmission Drops out of O/D

Hey there,

My '99 Dakota (Sport Club Cab 4X4 Auto) has this nasty habbit of late. After about an hour's drive on the highway, it will randomly drop out of O/D. When I push the O/D button, nothing happens. The last time, I just kept driving and 7km (4 miles)down the road the O/D kicked back in. This has happened 6 or 7 different times. Any body heard of this or got any ideas? Thanks a ton!

1-2

O/D lockup

1-2-3 hydrolic controled
O/D Lockup computer electricly controled

The button cancels O/D it will still lockup in 3rd

Yes bad lockup solonoid or bad elec connection
check on trans drivers side

99 was also 1 of the years they had probs with the
presure sensor and solonoid upgraded replacement
from chrysler around $200

Hi Larry,

Thanks for your thoughts! (You might have guessed I'm not much use under the hood) I'll take your ideas to my mechanic and see what he can find!

Thanks again!
