I have an '02 Dakota 3.9L V6 and was hoping if anyone else in here knows about the oii pressure Specs. Is it supposed to read Low on idle after a full freeway run, or is it supposed to be in the middle of High or Low. Thanks

Well, my Dakota gauge doesn't move much (usually about the middle at idle or 70 mph down the interstate), however, my Cherokee manual and gauge read as follows:
At idle after its warmed up (700-800 RPM)18-20 psi

Highway speeds (2,000-2,200 RPM) 40-50 psi.

May or may not help since a 4.0 inline six Jeep is different than a 3.9 V-6 Dodge, but they are both Chrysler products!!

I have a 95 3.9 with 118,500,and I'm pushing great oil press. I run Havoline 10w40 all year round. At idle I hold 1/2 way on the gauge, and thruway speeds 3/4. So it has to be at least 50psi avg.
