Subject: Check engine light IP: Logged
Message: Hello everyone!
I just replaced my stock muffler due to an inch hole with an aftremarket Turbo 2 by Cherry Bomb. Started the engine and the "Check engine" light came on and it's been on as of now. What causes this? And how how do I reset this? Is this have to do with EGR?
BTW It's a 97 4WD Dakota V6 3.9 xcab
Thanks

Message: I don't believe that 97 has EGR
However , what it does have is an O2 sensor at
the back of the cat , in front of the muffler
You probably disturbed it !!??
What code have you got ?
key on, off , on , off , on
within 5 seconds
count the flashes of that Check Engine light
then go here
http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/gas/Trouble/pcm_fault_code.htm
or here
http://www.troublecodes.net/chrysler/
for the info

Message: I probably did since there was a lot of twisting going on while removing the old muffler.
I tried the on-off maneuver but I never get any code flashes. The "check eng lite" goes away and when I turn the engine on it's there again.
The truck seem to be running the same as it was except the "check eng lite" just bother me.
Thanks

Message: If that O2 seems OK , check your gas cap
make sure is tight.
If light still on - go to Autozone or similar
and get truck scanned for the codes .
