Message: I haven't towed a horse trailer but I do tow my 91 Dakota on a 18 foot car hauler trailer. The 91 Dakota weighs 3645 and I'd say the trailer weighs at least 850. So that's about 4500lbs being towed by a v-6. I do have a very large trans cooler and 3.92 gears. The little 6er tows it just fine, does slow down some on big hills but no problems keeping up with traffic.

Message: I've pulled alot of other things that are larger and heavier then your one horse trailer. You'll be just fine. My truck does have the tranny cooler though.

Message: I'd say have good gears and a tranny cooler (like previously mentioned) AND make sure you got trailer brakes...

Message: trailer brakes would definately be a good idea, I've pulled a 20 foot boat weighing around 4000 with trailer and it pulls it fine, just can't use 5th on the highway if I'm going up hills.
96' 3.9L RC w/ exhaust and v8 throttlebody. No trans cooler unless it came stock?
