Subject: Misfiring after warm start... IP: Logged
Message: My truck has started missing after I'd stop somewhere for a short amount of time and then start it back up...it'll usually only do it for a few seconds immediately after I start driving it. Then it goes away completely. It's beginning to get worse though...lasting a few seconds longer and much more obvious. It doesn't do it after a cold start...only warm, such as stopping for gas. Could it be the ignition coil? I've got 55,000 miles on my truck with the stocker so I know it's due to go eventually. I have new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor...got them around 5,000 miles ago. It just recently started missing though...and I haven't made any changes to it at all. I just don't want it breaking down on me since I drive 100 miles a day for school...so I'd like to fix it before it completely goes out, whatever it is.
Thanks,
Josh

Message: My suspicion is the O2 sensor !
You stop long enough for it to cool down
but coolant and intake are still ' warm '
computer thinks O2 , etc. should be up to
"snuff " , goes into closed loop mode
O2 sensor doesn't give proper indication
Computer leans out mixture = miss ?
My 95 has 111,000 mile - doing same thing
original O2..!!..??

Message: Don't you usually notice the gas mileage suffering pretty badly and a lack of power? I haven't noticed that...yet.
I'll look into it though. Thanks.

Message: I have been chasing a missfire myself. After I had tested just about everything I could think. I decided that the Injector as not working all the time. So I replaced all of them with FMS #19's and boy did that smooth out my truck.

Message: could be leaky fuel injectors. after you stop they may be leaking fuel and causing an overrich condition when you first restart. after a little while all the extra fuel is burned and the it smoothes out.

Message: Bought a new ignition coil today... all I can say is at least I did some preventative maintenance, but it still misses after a warm start. I've noticed it seems to be really bad after stopping for gas. Could be leaky injectors...although I been running the STP Complete Fuel System cleaner through every 5,000 miles. The first time it definitely helped cuz my gas mileage went waaaay up...but the second time didn't really do anything. Hopefully it didn't do more harm than good... I guess I should prolly check my plugs and see if it's just one cylinder missing. Maybe it's just something to do with one of my plugs/wires...though I doubt it since they're both fairly new.

Message: I'm wondering something... CPS mod. I wonder if when I start it on a warm start if it gets a weird reading from it. Like if it maybe moved or something... I may pull my wheel well out and see if it does it if I put it back to stock. Any ideas on this?

Message: Not ' leaky ' injector
But one that is not giving the " nice " spray ?
Several people have mentioned the FMS 19 as
a super replacement !!!

Message: Just search ebay for FMS #19 and buy some nice used ones. Or get them from five-0. replacement is not very hard. But if you get used ones... save some hassle and just replace all the O-rings with some nice New Ones. You can get a full box for like 10 bucks at any AP store.
