Subject: cooling at hwy speed IP: Logged
Message: Just replaced nearly the entire cooling system. New water pump, new radiator, new t-stat, new t-stat housing, and ran sealer through the whole thing cause of a leaking freeze plug. Lately, as the weather's gotten cooler, the truck comes up to temperature, but when I get on the interstate, the temperature goes down. Basicly, the truck comes to it's normal operating temp, but drops, when i start driving at 65. It never did this before. Any ideas, or do I just need a winter front?!

Message: I had a situation where my truck would not reach normal operating temp. A wise old man told me my thermostat, which I had recently replaced was probably just a little smaller in circumferance than stock and that allowed it to "float" inside the housing. I figured the crothity old fool was sniffin glue or something, but after removing it and matching it up with another new one, He was correct. It fixed my problem. Now we share the glue.

Message: God, I would crap a brick if mine got over 200. I had a bad experience with a Chevy running about 210 and burning the oil off.

Message: If you're still running hot try getting a colder T-stat. Maybe your truck just likes to run warmer?

Message: factory thermo 195 metered flow
did you replace the guage sender
alternator side down by thermo 1 wire
a reg or supre stant will run aprox 185 because it
is not a metered flow designe
after marke thermos will run cooler at highway
speeds in colder weather but it will not hurt
anything as long as it reaches at least 170 if
not it will trip code engine running to cold to long
the only place to get the org metered flow is
from the dealer

Message: My truck did the same thing when I had my thermostat and radiator replaced. The temp drops quite a bit when driving. Never did it before.
