I have a '99 2WD Dakota with a 3.9L-V6.
The truck came with the tire and handling package so I had the P255/65 R15 Eagles LS tires.
I just got new BF Goodrich Long Trail P265/70 R15 tires. I tried a few tire calculation programs and came up with a new tire diameter of 29.6 inches over the old diameter of 28.05 inches. This is about 5.5 percent bigger. Do I even need to bother with adjusting the speedometer? I saw the Truspeed from superlift for around 180.00 bucks. I do not want to pay for that if I don't really need it. I calculated an indicated speed of 60 is really 64 miles per hour. Is this close enough or do I need to get it adjusted. The truck feels like it is shifting just fine with the new tire size.
