Quick question, Can I order a short throw shifter from a previous year and it will still fit properly on mine. 04 SXT 3.7L V6 5 speed HD trans. I went to some performance shop and they didn't think they made one at all since being new and all. So they call B&M to have one specially made and they gave me the price of $250, which is sh*t, since these fat can cars can get it for $20. Any input would be helpful, thanx.

G'day 04SilvSXT, If you have the NV3500 trans then I have been told that the Hurst shifter #391-0155 for 94-00 V8's will fit, same tranny!!!

Im not sure what tranny I have, I still have the sticker from the window and all it states it is being a 5 Speed HD Manual Transmission. Dunno where to start to find which one it is.

Update: Read the Manual and it only states the NV3500 5 speed in the manual. So I figure thats the only manual transmission that is being used for the 3.7/4.7L engines.

the nv3500 backs the 3.7s and most likely the 3.7s 2000+ they backed the v-6 with nv3500s so its probly the same so yes the shifter will fit

You may want to take a look at this thread. There seems to be a difference in the 94-00 and the 01-04 NV3500 application.
