Subject: V6 No Spark Condition IP: Logged
Message: I have a 93 Dakota Sport w/3.9 Manual. I bought it w/the no spark condition, but have found some other puzzleing mods.
The fuel pump relay was bypassed w/a switch. After some research on this site I found the three wire problem. When I opened the harness it was broken at the prescribed point. I fixed w/solder and retaped the harness. I removed the switch and fixed the splice, but still no spark. The crank sensor does not appear to have been replaced. I'll try to get one tomorrow.
My question is "shouldn't the fuel pump run when the key goes to the accessory position?" I do not hear the fuel pump start at that point. Could this point to a bigger problem (smec)?

Message: the stater relay is rated for a whole lot of amps and the fuel relay is only around a 20 amp rating, so if you did that the cotacts in the lower rated fuel relay most likely burned closed on the load side.
