Subject: starting issues HELP IP: Logged
Message: Hi,
A friend has a 93 dodge ram 250 with a 3.9 l, and it has an issue. In the morning when he goes to start it the fuel lelay will start clicking. As it is clicking the check engine light will flash with the click. Once the relay stays engage it will start. He tried replacing the relays, but this did not fix the problem. Once the van finally starts (5-10 min after turning the key on) it runs fine. It will also start right up through out the day. But once it has sat overnight it will have the same problem. Any ideas at all would be appreciated. I know this is the dakota forum, but it has the same engine.
Thanks,
Dennis

Message: Wiring ( may be same as Dak ) between underhood
fusebox/dist box and firewall - look for a splice of 3 or 4 wires - check carefully - redo with
good quality joiner , or solder and tape.
Also closely check the wiring connectors in the
bottom of that fuse/dist box under that
" fuel relay " - may be designated ASD relay
Auto ShutDown . Also while under the hood
Check / clean / retighten all Ground/Chassis
connections - A bad ' ground ' may be the problem.
Hope this helps..
