 Subject: Ram Shocks

I got a 88' Dakota 4x4 w/5 speed manual. Since i haul alot of things in the bed and the shocks are going out i was thinking of putting a pair of Ram 2500 shocks in the rear that i have lying around. This guy i know has a Ford 150 with F350 shocks in the rear, and besides riding like dump truck they work fine. I'm expecting to do a modest amount of fabiracating to the shocks, but should i expect any real trouble or is this totally impossible? -Thanks for any help
