Subject: Hey Intense...3923 AUTOLITE IP: Logged
Message: i got the 3923 autolites like you recommended. i went over to a buddy's and let the truck cool down. when we got one of the spark plugs out, the autolite and the champion that was in there didnt match. the autolite isnt as long, it doesnt reach as far down into the cylinder. have you installed then in your 3.9? do you know anyone who has? is it not good that it isnt as long or is it good? i dont need to be screwing anything up. the recommended autolite for the 3.9 dakota is the 5229. any thoughts on that? thanks

Message: yeah when i went to napa to buy mine they gave me a different part number. i still haven't put mine in because of a severe case of lazy @ss that has been going around here. they are shorter, yes, that's the thing that makes them better... they are a little colder than stock and that's where you will see better performance... they fit right in with no problems, half of this board uses them.

Message: I put the Autolites in and they fit fine... I also noticed a reduction in pinging. If they dont work well for you, then just put your old brand back in. I like mine.... i guess we will see for sure when the Texas heat kicks in. Hey Intense, where has bernd been? I ordered from him a while back and never got anything yet. Is he still busy with the new shop?

Message: Intense is right.
I put 3923's in about 2 months ago and no problem,
I noticed a performance difference but then again the plugs I took out had worn down so much the gap on some of em were almost 50!!!
Good luck, Scott

Message: alright, thanks yall. i think the gap of the spark plug i took out was like around 60. ill go ahead and try to get these things in again. i just ordered the mopar performance cool air intake. probably be here in a couple weeks. with the intake where does it get the cool air from? i would think it would be drawing in the same air as the original from the fender. anyone like to touch on that?

Message: when you install the intake you pull out all the old stuff including what goes to the fender there is the hole. Also on the passenger side of the radiator there is a piece of something cheap that can be taken out and air will come through there also. I believe it will come with a heat shield though to keep the hot air from the fan away, but oh well. If you are losing weight such as intense is that's some small amount of weight gone.

Message: I can favourably say the 3923's work wonders. Go w/ them, gap them at factory settings, and enjoy.
I noticed all my Champion stock plugs were at different torque spec, and one was gapped-off so badly, and wreaked of gas...

Message: Hey I just bought Bosch platnum 4 plugs for my 3.9L are the autolites better. which would give it more power. I also hear a like a clunking noise like the bearings or something.

Message: i dont know if they will help an old engine like yours. I had tried the bosch plugs and i like the autolites better. You might not see any difference with either plug if your whole ignition is in the crapper and your engine is making funny noises.
