 Subject: Need help with oil leak

I noticed an oil leak on my 1997 3.9 V6. I found oil residue on the bell housing of the transmission just behind the intake manifold. Could this be form the intake manafold or are there areas that need to closer inspection? It's a tough spot to see back there!

could be the oil pressure sending unit. right there on the back of the block next to the distributor.

Is it sealed with a gasket? Any other spots to check?

no, there's no gasket on the sending unit. i have seen them leak many times and the gage still functions normally. could be intake gasket too. try cleaning that area up back there with some degreaser it will help pinpoint the leak.
