Subject: Give me your V6 TB IP: Logged
Message: Yep, you read it right, I want you to give it to me. Not only give it to me, but ship it at your expense.
If you have replaced your V6 TB with a V8 TB and it's just going to sit around and collect dust, I want to make a project out of it. If it's successful I'll return it at your expense and you can evaluate it. If it's not a sucess, it will be worthless and you will never see it again.
Ok, don't everyone send me one, I only need one or two. I don't own a V6 and likely never will, so I have absolutely no personal use for your TB.
If you have any questions, please use my e-mail.

Why put a V8 TB on a 3.6? Do you know what the flow is on a stock V8 TB? Don't forget the added advantage of not having to replace your linkage.
"is it for a supercharged/turbo setup?"
Yes, believe it not, there are people that actually do such foolish things.
Like I said, it's not for me, I don't own a V6. I can understand that some people have no interest in such thing and wonder what thier interest is in this thread.

If you don't find anyone dumb enough to fall for it, I'll let you
buy mine. It's already ported and polished though so that might
ruin your experiment.

um, actually the reason i was asking was because i was interested in what you were doing. since i own a v6, i like to see projects and performance build ups. so that was my reason for asking. you don't have to make it sound like its a NASA experiment and that people are criticizing you by showing interest in your top secret project. good luck with that by the way.

Yep, anyone can take a hacksaw and hand grinder to their TB and come up the same results.
Or, maybe not.
"And it doesn't take a genius to know that it won't
get 900 CFM."
Never claimed that simple porting or polishing would do that, but it is certainly in the realm of possibility.
"He has something wild in mind"
It will be one step at a time, moving from mild to wild.
"I'll let you
buy mine."
I already have some adventursome souls ready to donate with the clear understanding that they may never see their charished V6 TB again. I'm sure that you will find someone to buy your valuable piece.

Actually, NASA airfoils do have something to do with my more radical ideas. I've even tried using FoilSimII come up the shape that I want. I doubt that I am going to find a NASA aero engineer to take an interest and I will just have to settle for guess work and a home made flow bench for now. I won't be able to measure actual numbers, but I believe that I can measure relative increase.
I'm sorry if you think that my remarks were directed towards you in a derogatory manner. Sometimes it's hard to tell where people are coming from.

So you choose to be an a$$hole towards everyone? That way your always covered right? I didn't say you porting it an polishing it you moron. If your still thinking porting and polishing it and getting 900 CFM is in the realm of possibility then you are truely dimwitted. All I said was that you can't be porting and polishing as someone stated earlier because that won't get anywhere near 900CFM. Further more these motors can't handle 900 CFM.

Wow, look who's calling the kettle, black. Hello pot.
Maybe you just have a reading and comprehension problem.
Exactly how does one interpret "Never claimed that simple porting or polishing would do that"?
"Further more these motors can't handle 900 CFM."
Then you wouldn't want one for your application, would you?

Message: LOL, you said it's in the realm of possibiltiy which it just simply isn't. Come on you can't be that dumb. Your not going to get anyone to believe that porting and polishing a stock V6 TB will get 900 CFM. Are you trying to say that the 3.9 would do well with 900 CFM? Just a tip....I wouldn't try to make people think that, that's a dead give away that your bogus.
Anyways it's all for naught, you got your TB's so go away now.

The problem seems to be in your fourth grade level reading skills or you would have to ask the following question.
" Are you trying to say that the 3.9 would do well with 900 CFM?"
Nope, didn't say or even suggest that.
Don't give up your night job at McDonalds.

You clearly stated that by porting and polishing a stock V6 TB 900 CFM's is within the realm of possibility.
"Never claimed that simple porting or polishing would do that, but it is certainly in the realm of possibility."
Who's in 4th grade now pal? I'm guessing that your acknowledging the fact that porting and polishing it won't get anywhere near 900 CFM, but your inability to grasp the grammar of the English language prevents you from communicating a clear thought.

Who said 3.9's have to stay 3.9? There's no reason that you can't punch it out to about 300-310 cid. That alone can handle about 800cfm at 7000 rpm. What do you think is the upper limit for a maxed out 3.9?
Your approach is like saying that anyone with a 5.2 will never have any use for 1100 cfm, but you can sure buy one. Do you suppose that is because not all 5.2's stay stock? Some actually grow up and I suggest that you do the same.

Is this what passes for civil discourse in your world?
Jeremy's entry into this thread--"He has something wild in mind or he's a jack a$$"
Don't forget, I promised absolutely nothing in return. It was a take it or leave it offer with no enticements. To each person that wanted to send me their TB, I made sure that they understood my offer. If that makes me some sort of a "jack ass", so be it.
