I've got a 99 3.9l v6 and I'm looking for a v8 TB.
My question is how far back in years can I go?

I am pretty sure if you get the size TB you want you can just throw it on, as long as the equipment fits. Such as a 48mm factory V8 TB.

but can I get a 98, 97, 96, 95, etc. What year did the magnums start?

early 90's. i don't know that actual year but any of those years you listed will work... just need to get the V8 throttle linkage as well.

My 95 3.9 CC doesn't use an air hat. It has the older style round air filter. I thnk Bernd says to use one from 97 on up & make sure to get the throttle cable from the same year.
