There's two folks on the R/T list running the "BETA" programs from ASE. I'd wait and give them a few months to work all the bugs out.
I also contacted them myself a few months ago and they stated that they didn't do the V6 PCM's. Maybe they changed their minds....hmmmmm...phone call time. ;)
Where on their site is the V6 person mentioned? I didn't see any testimonials.

The testimonial (in red letters) link is on the first webpage with the import on the rack to the lower left corner of the pic. The owners name is Sam Marks with a 97 Dakota. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed in hopes of a good chip!

There have been a half dozen or so posts about after market chips over the last few weeks. If the chips perform as mentioned above maybe we can get a group buy going? The price is on the expensive side but these are installed chips instead of piggyback modules. The chips also come with a warranty (2 years maybe) but I cannot remember what is was.
