i just bought an 97 dakota it runs good but the check engine light stays on its code 12 which fault reads power to pcm was disconnected everythings hooked up any idear s also it drinks gas@

12 = direct battery input to PCM was diconnected within the last 50 key starts. This code will go away after you start your truck up 50 times. Someone disconnected the battery recently. You do not get any other codes? I do not think that code 12 makes the check engine light go on, it is a code that is just stored.
