Subject: 3.7 liter V6 Questions IP: Logged
Message: Can I do basically the same mods I did on my old 3.9 with my new 3.7. Like I took the throttle body from a 5.2 and put it on my 3.9, can I get a t-body from a 4.7 and put it on my 3.7? Also what kinda of flowmaster are people using on the new 3.7 motors? I put an airhog filter in it but thats all I've done. I was looking at those dual cold air filter intakes on ebay. Anyone got one of those on, they look sweet! Thanks for any help. Dirk

Message: Why yes Dirkota you can. The 3.7 is just a 4.7 with 2 less cylinders. Other then that they are pretty much the same motors. I'm not sure if the 4.7's throttle body will fit? Try putting a 50 series flowmaster cat back system on it and a single or dual cold air intake system. Try a little colder plug and drop the thermostat down 10 degrees. Hell through a set of traction bars on it for looks and maybe some flames. Take care and good luck with your new truck!

Message: Yes the 3.7 reacts just the same as the old 3.9 to
a throttle body swap.
Bruce at F&B flowmetrics and dan the fastman are
both making aftermarket bodies for both the 3.7
and 4.7
Or you can find a 4.7 body in a boneyard, the 03
and up 4.7 have bigger bodies than the 02 and down
4.7's They went from 65 to 68mm in 03
Dan the fastman, KRC and Hughes engines will also
regrind cams for the 3.7's, headers should be out
soon for the 3.7 from what my sorces tell me
Kenny bell is making a blower for the 4.7 so other
companies will follow suite and be making them and
I am sure they can be adapted to the 3.7

Message: Has anybody made a supercharger for the 3.7 yet? Would the same rules apply for the superchargers? (4.7 fitting a 3.7)
