Subject: Boost/Vac Gauge IP: Logged
Message: i've got a dual pillar gauge pod, already have the autometer transmission gauge setup. i'm looking to put a boost/vaccum gauge in the second spot. i do plan on someday doing a supercharger/turbo setup on my truck. would it be worthwhile just to have the gauge hooked up to measure my vaccum for now?
here's the gauge

also, i know that a few people around here have done turbo and sc setups on 3.9s. which would be the best overall, the vortech kit from KRC or getting a custom turbo setup built?
ive got an 02 dakota 3.9 auto. fastman tb, cai, 1.7 harland sharp rrs, summitracing cap & wires, autolite 3923s, 4.10s and powertrax noslip.

Message: a blower puts more parasitic load on the crankshaft then a turbocharger does, meaning that with a given boost pressure then engine using a turbo will put out more crank HP then a blower will. the turbo uses "free" energy to get it's power while the blower uses crank HP to develop it's energy. I saw this on a TV show a few weeeks ago and Gale Banks said, it not just something I made up.
