hey guys,
just got done taking most of my a/c off!
had a shop drain the system... -2 pounds
took out condensor and lines... -20 pounds
took out compressor...-25 pounds
next evaporator will go... about -10 pounds
and i will swith from an A/C alternator bracket to a non a/c alternator bracket.
plus i will loose engine drag due to no a/c!

it's okay... i never used it anyway... only when girlfriend was in the car. i am a roll the window down kinda person. besides, i have two side windows, a rear slider, and a sunroof that opens up and back... good enough for me.

well...my last car didn't have it so the a/c on my dak was to technologically advanced for me. besides removing my condensor left a big open area in front of my radiator for a intercooler when i go turbocharged!
besides... i can just buy one of those hats with the little fan on the bill...

If you wanted to get real "Intense" lol, about it you can change out your heat/ac exchanger (I know it has a technical name but I cant think of it right now) from under the dash to a heat only unit and save somemore weight.
Man, the tracks open down there?!!! thats not fair, it was 17 damn degrees up here yesterday morning!! cant wait till the track opens here.

here ya go, a list of what to pull:
~Windshield washer fluid tank, racer's don't need to use that.
~All the crap behind the dash you don't really need.
~airbags(stick them under the axles, hit your axle and maybe they can lift the rear for the hot rod look.)
~passeneger seat(what's a passenger??)
Underhood:
~A/C and heater(you got the ac already)
~the hood itself(the best ram air hood)
Bed:
~tailgate

gotta have windshield wash to pass inspection
i am going to put lighter seats in soon
no girlfriend saves a lot more than 40# (oops did i say that out loud?)
keep hood for aerodynamics
just have a tailgate skin welded to back of bed (goig for the shaved look)
i found a company that makes fiberglass parts for the dakota... i might try there!
or how about i just replace all of my sheet metal with expanded metal? he he he

Intense, you said you found someone who makes fiberglass stuff for Daks, is it AAR or another place and can you fwd their site (if its not AAR) or phone number to me, I would appreciate it.

lexan windshield like the ones found on dak race trucks. go to a smallish fuel cell and scrap the tank. you have to wear a helmet to race so why dont you just get one of those little bike helmets and put a little mirror on that and get rid of that ugly one on the windshield. all of these mod should cut at least30 pounds or better.
