And all I have to say is Wow.
Actually, I have more to say.
I think it's quicker than my truck!!! hehe, probably not, but it feels real "torque-y", and rides SMOOTH!

I had a 98 Stratus, tis was a good car, until i put it on a windy(very windy) road next to another car goin TOO fast, and smashed it up.

Drove a rental stratus several years ago. I wnated to rip the seat out and put it in my truck. It was soooo comfortable. I could keep up with my buddys v6 camaro.

i test drove one of those RTs... WOW!!! no no W O W ! ! !
handled better than a 2000 eclipse gt i also test drove and chirped the tires when i slammed it into third. i wish i could of afforded one because it was awesome... plus it had really cool 17" wheels.

Replying to the person that said they with their mom got the v6 stratus... Just adding that the V6 is not much faster/powerful then the 2.4L motor.. The 2.5L v6 has a lil more problem/issues and the 2.4 actually pulls in times barely slower, with better gas mileage :)

Come on now DodgeMick!!! A 98 Stratus? How are you gonna go from a 2001 Dak to a 98 Stratus?
I have a 2002 Stratus R/T (3.0 V6 200HP) and I love it, fully loaded, sunroof, way better than a 98....get yourself a 2001+ Stratus R/T coupe or sedan if you want a nice car.
I just noticed you wrote this back in 2002.........oh well...but let it be known to the rest of ya! 2001 and UP Stratus R/T's are the BEST.

Just thought I'd jump in here I started/run a dodge stratus message board. Its for the second gen though 2001 and up. www.2GSS.org Second Generation Dodge Stratus Sedan Group. I really really recommend trying out the 2.7L V6 its got major pep, I love mine! The 2.7 is rated for the same ammount of HP as the coupe R/T 3.0. The coupe is nearly all mitsu eclipse, the sedan's are still dodge/chrysler powered :)

The new intrepid police cars are coming with the
3.5 V6 and will do a 135mph and they are fast
off the line as well.
I got to drive one about 3 weeks ago while he was
over at the shop looking at the cars we had here

Too bad the 2.7 doesn't have alot of aftermarket support like the mitsu 3.0.....not to mention they don't have a supercharger kit. =)

I totally agree on the R/T subject. i work at a Dodge dealer and I drive the new R/T's all the time along with the 01-02's. Very nice cars and have some damn good power under the hood thanx to the mitsubishi 3.0. Im a die hard dodge fan and if I got any new car right now it would be the SRT-4 or a R/T Coupe Stratus. Can't go wrong with those man, 2 nice ass cars right there. I also think that the sedan R/T's are some sick pieces of car. the 2.7 Magnum's are another work of art from chrysler and the cars to damn loaded with everything. Peace

Yes, my other half has an Intrepid with the 3.5 motor. It really hauls ass. I love killing other vehicles with it. FUnny, but those who don't driv e them think they're slow, family cars. Hahah. I wonder if anyone's put a super charger or something in one of them.

I heard those 2.7's are crap engines...they maybe quick and liable...but only for awhile...i haerd some crappy reports on those engines....they wear out to quickley...but then again...am i hearing that the 3.0 r/t stratus is a mitsubishi motor....wtf? is there anything chrysler on it besides the trans?

Mitsu and DCX have been in in business together for a good while now.
Stealth - 3000GT
Eclipse - Laser
Stratus R/T - Eclipse GT
the 2001-02 Stratus R/T coupe is basically a Eclipse GT with a Dodge body. They even have the same interior.
The 03+ still share the same drivetrain, except the body of course and they finally changed the interior.
And yes...I think the 2.7 is POOP.
