Message: You can leave it on all the time, but if you're finding that the speeds have you constantly in-and-out of OD, locking it out usually makes for a better driving experience.

Message: I ususally just leave it on. I have an auto and it is never going in and out constantly. Only time i really turn OD off is going up steep hills. ONly time i find i need to turn it off.

Message: The system is designed to be left on. My reference to "in-and-out" of overdrive is when the stop-and-go traffic is such that just when you get up to speed and the overdrive kicks in, you're slowing down some, or stopping again. In those cases, it's usually less tedious to lock it out.

I've never heard of a manual transmission with an overdrive button. Come on, man.

Message: so you are saying that even tho the 3rd or last gear in my old mustang, is a direct drive that does not spin the driveshaft faster then the engine is an overdrive?????
