Message: Wow, smoked a manual transmission? Did it run out of fluid or were you having too much fun? How many miles did you get out of it? Here is a place I saw on the web, but have no idea if the re-builds are any good. May or may not help but worth a shot.

Message: i did not do the damage, i just bought into it. its got 123k on it and im assuming that is the reason why it was sold. i found that when i drive around in 4 wheel drive, it makes some bad grinding noise, so i rebuilt the t case. that turned out to not be the problem. so when i was driving around, i felt the t case shifter which is bolted to the tranny case. it started to vibrate when the noise came up. then yesturday i put the rear end in the air, in 2wd and got it to about 30 and started to apply the brakes. the noise was so bad that my brother in the basement of the house could hear it and said it was no good.
the truck does have signs of abuse on it, like tons of dirt in the frame and lots of digs and dents all over. the bottom of the gas tank is also scraped. it turns out that who ever had it before me just beat on it until it broke then sold it and i ended up with it.
thanks for the info, Steve
