Subject: Sparkplug heat sheild IP: Logged
Message: My brother has been trying for hours to get the
spark plug heat sheild off so he can get to his
plugs. But the crappy metal has rusted and
fused to the holes they were set in. Anyone
know how to get them out or change them a
different way?

Message: you should be able to change them without removing the shields. 5/8" plug socket and extension. really easy.

Message: using a 5/8" socket? should have about 1/4" clearance between socket & shield. try soaking the sheilds down with wd or aerokroil. squeeze the sheild together, twist and pull it out. mine came out really easy. didn't use anything but pliers.

Message: Thanks, but I have tried all of that and they are
just rusted in there. I have clamped them
down with a pair of vise grips and that worked
on one but the others will not move.
