Sorry I mean 3:92 rear end. Has anyone towed a 2 or 3000lb trailer thru the rocky mountains?
Still like to here from someone.
Thanks.

I have a '00 quad cab with a 4.7 and 3.55 gears. The truck pulls our 4500 pound ski boat great on level ground. Even did a great job going up hills once you lock overdrive out. The temperature guage sky rocketed almost up to the red area on long hills. I ended up having to slow down(40mph) just to bring the temperature down. I couldn't hear my clutch fan kicking on, so I think I got some work to do on my truck. Have fun, but watch the temperature!!

I have a 1998 Club Cab SLT 4X4 with the 5.2L, auto tranny, and stock gears. I had NO problems pulling a U-Haul aluminum dual axle car hauler with a 1956 Chevy Pickup loaded on it through the hills of Missouri. It doesn't compare to a full-size deisel pickup for towing, but it works. You can see pics of my truck and other Dakotas at my website. http://www.geocities.com/coham321/coham.html
