i just baught a checkmate fx tonneau cover.
The flush fiberglass knid. Now i'm intrested in
buying a wing. I was considering to buy an
import double wing. I would have to stretch it
out and relocate the led light. I have never
seen this before so i don't know how it will
look. It's an orginal idea i would like to try. I
wanna hear what you guys think.

Well, you asked so here it goes...Wings are for planes and race cars...They have no place on the back of a pick up truck in my opinion

I agree with Bluethunder. I really dislike wings on a pickup, but if that's what you like, go for it. Seems like no matter what kind of customization you do there will always be people that don't like it.

I have to agree w/ both of them..

WHY!? Get a Ricer if your going to do that.. at least it would be expected.

It does nothing for performance.. It costs a arm and a leg.. and it's a eye sore.

Unless you like everyone shaking there heads in disgust I wouldn't do it.

D.. those look ok.. not great.. just ok. If your going to do it to a truck.. that's the best I've seen.. it must be one of those "I live it California and this is what we do" things..

Anyway.. If it's flush it looks alright.. A big gap.. and that's nasty.

Even though I don't think it looks good or is a good idea.. it's not my truck. This is your truck you have to decide if you want to do it.

Wings and spoilers on trucks are just plain wrong. Those are for cars. The way I see it, anyone who puts a wing or spoiler on a truck is only making my truck look that much better!

Alright gentlemen lets look at it this way..
What is the main purpose of a wing or Spoiler..To provide down pressure..
Therefore if one is applyed onto a truck it would be putting down pressure on the rear end wich is where you want to keep your tires stuck to the ground.. So if you put one on a truck it would help it to stay planted.. Now on the case of the Ricers out there puttin wings on thier cars.. WHY is all i gotta ask.. on a front wheel drive car with a wing on the back it is puttin pressure on the rear tires.. Lifting the front end of the car wich will cause them to loose traction..
Just thought i would share that with you all..

My 2 cents..

Innovations makes a simple yet functional wing that is built into their Pro Glass Cover. Check out the May SPORT TRUCK page 142. It's not a old school Texas Tail from the 80's nor a RIce Grinder special.

JDakotaHoss is right. The spoiler will help keep the tires planted at highway speeds. But, whatever you do, don't get the rice wing, they don't look good. Stick with a small spoiler, like the innovations tonneau cover. I see trucks all the time with spoilers that look great.

Yikes! I better get a spoiler to make sure my rear wheels are planted! The last thing I want is to start flying into the air on the highway or interstate! At what speed does this occur? I'll have to make sure I don't exceed that speed until I have my spoiler.

I don't know how fast your truck goes, but mine goes 120(limited)and at that speed a spoiler helps. I was also commenting in regards to high speed cornering. How is the extra weight going to help those of us that race our trucks?
P.s. I also haul stuff with my truck.

I have to agree with everyone that is against the wing. Those ricers sure look stupid. The ricer owners keep trying to out do each other and the wings keep getting bigger and bigger. Before you know it they will have to put wings on the front to counter balance the car. They remind me of cheese slicers, flip them upside down and grab them from the bottom and whaaa laaa!! a cheese slicer.:)

Or how come Chevrolet decided to drop the CAMARO because SPORT truck sales nearly double that of the legendary sport car. Or why Dodge is making a Viper drive train 500hp 2WD muscle truck??? Trucks do haul things, but A*S is one of them!!! Did you notice TRUCKIN' is twice as thick as 4WHEEL AND OFF ROAD and even HOT ROD?
