Subject: Ghost decals

Stripped the "Dakota SPORT" off the doors.
Now the paint shows the fade, yuo can see
the decals in the sun. What am I gonna do?
Its a black demon...

try polishing and waxing the entire door...if no luck, you may have to compound and wax

when i took mine off my black truck (after it was over a year old) i just hit the area with some mequiers pain cleaner and followed with polish and wax. you just have to make sure you get all traces of the adhesive off as it will leave an outline.

Just applied new decals. Used turtle wax
"color cure" Cant beleive the results, like it
was never even there. For the rest of you with
black trucks and bad clear coat try this! Kudos
to them.

Goo Gone, Desolv-it or any other citrus cleaner will remove the glue left over...Just wash and wax afterwards.
Also, Using a hair dryer and getting the decals hot will cause less glue to remain on the paint.

Um...... I think he already got the decal off......but thanks for the imput.

heres mine

block sand with 2000 grit sand paper, then 3M rubbing compound, then 3M hand glaze

NOTE: sand lightly
