 Subject: Rear window tinted or not?

I ordered a 2001 Dak club cab slt and it should be here any time now. I'm wondering wether the rear window will be tinted, the dealer wasn't sure. I opted for the solid rear window instead of the sliding glass. I'm looking to buy ram head decals for the rear window. If it's tinted I want a light color to stand out and if it's not I want to order some that are body color(patriot blue) anyone have any idea on wether it'll be tinted or not?

Yep. The tinted rear window is standard equipment.

The REAR window is not tinted. The side rear windows are.
That's with the Sport package anyway. Can't say if SLT package comes with tinted rear or not.

Same here, 2000 quads with the sport pkg DO NOT have the rear window tinted. Only the rear doors. Don't know about the slt pkg either.

i have an 98 club cab slt with the solid rear window and it came tinted, its also better for sound it would rattle from my subs if it was a sliding window

THE REAR WINDOW IS ONLY TINTED IF IT HAS A SLIDER IN IT. IF IT WAS SOLID IT WONT BE TINTED

My '00 SLT Club Cab solid rear window was not tinted from the factory. They fed me some line that it was against the law or something like that. They also said the two front door windows could not be tinted per the same law.
Needless to say, I had my windows tinted within 2 months. It would of been sooner but four days old and some ford decided to by me a new front end. So my windows were tinted before I picked it up from the body shop.

My SLT plus came with a very light tint on the back window.
Stuart-- In CA it is illegal to tint the front to windows. I believe CA is the only state that has that law, I have many tickets to prove it.

No front windows tinted in IL either...unless your vehicle was made before 1980 or something stupid like that. At $75 a ticket...the front windows are no longer tinted on the '97.

inspection laws in pa. say that if they came from the factory you can have it. You are also exempted for a medical condition.

Add Jersey to that list of no front tint, but you can tint the rears ad freak'n dark as you want to.....yeah, THAT makes sense!!!!
But Florida, ANY window (including the top 1/3 of windshield) can be down to 32%. My friend down there is a dep sherriff. Gotta love that when I go down there.....

Boomer I live in Florida and used to work for the Sheriff's office here. You are partially right, any window can be tinted but the back window and rear seat windows can be a bit darker than the front ones. Don't remember the exact numbers, but yeah we can have all ours done!! :-)

here in La. it is whatever you want on the back and quarter windows, and the side and passenger windows can be no more than 40%. 40% is LIGHT. I had some more put over my 40 and it reads 8% now. Only been pulled over once in over a year! The ticket in Monroe, where I used to live, is $133.50.
I assume when you all say front, you are meaning the windshield are you? I think we can have 5" here .. I have about 10" =) It is good to have a dad that is retired State Police....

On mine I was refering to it being a 4 door as far as the rear window, back door(s) windows, and the front door windows. Not the windshield.

Did you know that the speed limits are set 8-12 mph BELOW the prevailing travel speed and 15mph BELOW the maximum safe speed that 85% of traffic travels. this according to the chief of the trafic Saftey division of the federal highway administration.

Just got my 2001 Quad SLT 5.9,4x4,3.92's in New York and only the two rear doors were tinted.I got a solid rear with No defroster and it was not tinted only the rear doors were.Maybe it changes with the states' laws.
