Message: This is for everybody who has wanted to install a
digital overhead console in their trucks and have not been successful. There is a cool mirror in the summit truckstyle catalog, its a auto dimming mirror with a compass and temp readout and sells for 209.95 Its not one of the cheesy ones like they sell in JcWhitney. This is made by a company called Cipa and the display is made into the mirror and it gives both readouts at the same time like the overhead console would. Its pretty cool and they probably have it on their website too. Its www.summittruckstyle.com

Message: I just checked the web page for this mirror/compass.. and it only has INTERIOR temp (which I would find useless). I have the JC Whitney version with OUTSIDE sensor (which also helps determine temp in the front of the engine bay. like when stuck in traffic on those hot days), and been in use for about a year and according to the local radio stations it's within 1 degree each time as I drive.
Personally I think the quality is excellent, altho the price was high $279. All wires loomed and sealed.. so a clean install.
my .02 worth.

Message: I know it says inside temp, but its a typo because I went directly to the manufacturers home page and have saw the mirror in other books also, and they all say outside. I suppose you could get inside temp, it just depends on where you choose to mount the temp sensor I guess.

Message: I recently purchased a 2003 quad cab. It’s fully loaded but didn’t come with the elusive overhead computer. After reading most of the postings. I was able to obtain an overhead computer on Ebay. I’m interested in hardwiring the overhead computer. The only option in the computer that I am interested in is the compass and outside temperature sensor. The computer I have has four wires attached to it. I know that one wire is the constant power, the second is ground and the third is the ignition power. I’m not sure what the forth is I’m assuming it the Outside temp reading. I got the compass to work but cant figure out how to get the outside temp to work. My truck came with a senor for outside temp. The senor has two wire going into it. How can I hardwire my over head computer so that my outside temp works. Also does anybody know what PCI bus stands for, and were can I find it in my truck. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
