Subject: Ram taillights? IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering how much work it would take to put ram taillights in my '93 Dak. I want euro's but NO ONE MAKES THEM!!! I like the look of the ram euros but would it be easier to put in taillights from another truck? I'd appreciate any info.

Message: NO ONE makes euros for the Gen 2 Daks, I've checked. I was wondering about a CUSTOM taillight swap. What about Gen 3 Dak lights? Is the wiring the same? I don't want it to be TOO HARD to do.

Message: The Euro lights uses your stock light setup. There is no wiring set up for the euro lights. APC manufactured them to use the same light harness as the OEM ones. All you do is remove the light harness from the OEM tail lights and pop them into the aftermarket ones. It took me 2 minutes each light. As for the Gen2 and Gen3 light swap, I don't think that would work because of the tailight design is WAY different.

Message: Thank you but I REALIZE THAT!! I'm talking about a complete custom swap. New body work and welding will probably be required. I was just wondering if I could save myself some trouble by getting something CLOSE to my current lights.

Message: Sorry man, don't get in a huff, I was just helping out. I suppose that since they do not make those lights (are the boxed or rounded?) you could do a custom job. If they are boxed looking, you might look into the Ford Ranger or S-10's of that same year. Again, I am sorry that my previous response was not what you were looking for.

Message: sorry bout that, but when everybody i talk to gives the same response (i've talked to like 20 people), it just wears on a guy. i think the idea of really custom work is new to people, or scares them. maybe it's just the fact of taking a saw to their smooth paint job. anyways, i've been looking at the lights. i think gen 3 s10 lights may work, but i like the chevy astro lights. i'm just worried about the wiring. anyways, thanks for the input and i appologize again :)

Message: Dood, no problem I am glad to give you any suggestions. What you can do is buy the light you want, then go to a junk yard and get the light assembly wires and all, then match them up to your dak. The wiring is pretty basic, A positive, negative, ground, the power wire for when you have your headlights on. I think all wiring concepts for tail lights are basically the same.
