IP: Logged

Message:
I just purchased a Street Scene bumper cover. Bought it to the paint shop and the owner says he's never seen anything like it. It does seem flimsy to me too. Does anyone have this bumper cover and can help me out? I think it needs to be modified a little bit where those 3 bars are on the lower valance.PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

I have a Stillen bumper cover, but I'm sure they work the same way. You need to cut out three elongated slots in mine to fit over the bars in the lower grill area. This allows you to slide the cover all the way in. Then mount with the screws/bolts on the front part of the wheel well. All should be well after that. It will be sturdy enough. It is flimsy, but the original bumper provides support. Just have to get it to fit properly.

When you got it painted did you have it painted on the truck or seperately? Im afraid if i paint it seperately the paint will crack when i install it. Thanks alot.

Had mine painted before putting it on, but after it was prefitted. The painter should put some flex agent in the paint to prevent it from cracking. The urethane will stretch (but not much) so you can get it screwed into the wheel well bolts. Just have to be careful putting it on so you don't scratch it. Best if two people do it. (someone you trust, lol)
