Subject: rims on 4x4 IP: Logged
Message: I need a couple of ideas for some rims and tires i have a 2000 4x4 4.7. Now i dont want to put low low profile tires on it. right now they are 31x 10.5/15. I either want to put r/t rims on it or the newer factory 16's or i might want to go with somthing higher. But i Do NOT want it to look ghetto. The tires i want to be the same dimensions but a little wider and a little performance so i can get better traction and handling. also has any one already done something like this. thaks for any ideas 4.7,airaid intake, tbs, flowmaster 40 series delta flow, stage 2 jet chip 180 t-stat.

Message: I just like you Pat want to change my rims on my 2000 Dakota CC 4X4 with the 31" tires to the newer style 16" rim or the R/T rim. But I want the R/T rims more.
I've searching the web for about 2 months and couldn't find a single pic. Today I found a guy on the net who just installed R/T rims on his 2000 Dakota CC 4X4, here's his site. http://photos.yahoo.com/blakdak2k
He runnning the same size tires on a regular R/T needs thicked tires like what the Durango R/T has, to full out the wheel wells better and to add up to 31" like what we have.

Anthony

Message: I agree he needs bigger tires but it does look good. I think i will go with those but with bigger tires . what size do you think? or should we keep the 31x10.5. What do you think about some DUBS? i saw a 4x4 on e-bay with 20's looked alright but they were chrome and i don't like chrome too much what aboout you? Also I bet the 20 inch R/T rims that just came out wouldn't look bad like to see some pics of those on either the 4x4 or Regular R/T. I mean the new ram 1500 looks sweet with those new 20's on it I understand that it's a bigger truck but you know it's whatever we want it too look like

Message: It all depends on price if I'm going to change my rims/tires. If I get everything at a good price I'm doing it. Tires that would work is 275/60R17 which are the same height as 31" tires. That's what the Durango R/T has.
20" rims (I think) looks better on a 2wd Dakota, low profile tires on a 4X4 looks out of place.
Now I just need to get my hands on some R/T rims!!!
