Subject: Sir Michaels Rollpan IP: Logged
Message: Hey all,
Looking for some help...... I had a girl run her Firebird under the rear bumper of my 4x4 and caused enough damage ($425 worth) that I am now considering replacing the stock bumper with a rollpan- sounds like everyones liking the Sir Michaels. My question is, according to their website theres alot of necessary PREP work involved- guess raw steel isnt easy to work with- LOL. Anyway just wondering what kinda prices you guys are being charged for the painting process! i have a reliable bodyshop who I sent my brother to when he got pinned in his Stratus R/T ($4500+ worth) but I want to make sure hes not overcharging me too. THANKS GUYS/GALS!
Ohh just FYI: My accident happened December 26th - nice present huh? LMAO

Message: I paid about $250.00 for prep, paint and install. But I had a lot of work done thru that shop so I think he gave me a break.

Message: They take alot of prep work. You have to grind the welds, body fill and smooth all edges, primer, seal and paint them, then undercoat the backsides to prevent rusting. Anyway, I have one that Ill sell you that is already preped and just needs paint if you want it. Ill have it off the truck in about 3 weeks if you can wait that long.

Message: Jonas,
Thanks for the offer, but I just ordered it tonight- talked to the guy at the shop who said he'd do what ever it takes. Other thing is I still need the receipts for insurance. Why are you taking your rollpan off? Just time for a change?
Thanks anyway!

Message: No problems with it, once you get it prepped and on they are nice. Im taking mine off since we should have our new GTS style Rollpan with matching Stainless exhaust kit done in about 3 weeks.. so needless to say the sir michaels comes off in favor of my production rollpan.
