by trial and error has anyone out there discovered any clear lenses that fit a pre 97' Dakota but aren't designed for this purpose? That would be a great find, they are all pretty close in shape.

Does nobody love me or just nobody has found a good fit for the Gen II body style with clear corners, I hear how much of a pain in the butt they are to install even when they are designed for your vehicle, I can only imagine how crappy it would be to try to make a set of them work on a wrong truck!!

Tell me about it!!! I guess the aftermarket intersest isn't as strong for Dodges in the parts makers minds. It is very simple to find items like clear corners, etc. for Chevys and Fords back into the late 80's bodystyles!!!

Oh, and by the way do you know if you have to also install colored bulbs for the blinkers, since the lens would now be clear?

Brian,
I'm assuming the install will be a beast based on my previous task of changing the bulbs in the factory parking/turn signal housing. The headlight bulbs are easy, but you have to be a contortionist to change the other bulbs. I plan on putting in "hyperwhite" bulbs in the clear housing, the bulbs will be blue, but they light up super white. I know it's illegal and may end up looking like an import but after all of this work and money I want to stand out from the crowd and be noticed, you never see a Gen II Dak with clear corners, so here's my chance!

They're really easy to put in. Took me 15 min max. Just uncrew your headlight housing and your grill and it takes only 2 screws for the signals and only 2 nuts for the reflectors. The look sweet too.
