Message: I was just curious if anyone with the 40/20/40 split bench front seat (not buckets), has simply taken out the middle seat? I know it bolts underneath the brackets for the passenger and driver's seat, but can you just take it out altogether? I would like to do this to create more legroom for the back passengers in my clubcab and also give me the opportunity to maybe make a much smaller console that has an entertainment center with small LCD and DVD player. Any thoughts?????

Message: Removing the center "20" is no big deal; atleast on my 2000. Just remove the bolts that hold down the driver's and passenger's seat -- (2) 18mm and (2) 13mm bolts each, tilt the seats forward or back, and take out the 4 bolts that hold on the center seat. What you will be left with are the brackets coming from each seat where the center portion attached. Also, the carpet has a few factory holes in it. So if you decide to leave it out, it may not look the best. I built a low profile center console out of aluminum with cup holders, a map light, and a variety of electronics.

Message: Sweet! I knew I wouldn't be the first one to try it. My only question is: Do you have to put spacers of any kind under the pass and driver seats on the inside where the "20" used to be or just bolt them back down? Oh, and just out of curiosity, what kind of "electronics" did you manage to squeeze into the new console?

Message: Hi all,
I want to put a power seat in my 02 QC. I have a power seat base, cover, and switch assy out of a 2001 with buckets. All fits perfectly with the exception of the bracket that goes from the seat track to the left forward corner of the center seat portion. The bucket seat base does not have this bracket.
Has anyone out there have a 01 or 02 40/20/40 with power seats that can talk to me about this?
thanks

Message: DakMatt -- For some reason, 1 of the 4 existing brackets is slightly lower than the others (?????). You could probably bolt your new console in with out any spacers, but plan on adding something so you can fine tune the height / level. I built my console for a Kenwood mobile radio head unit, 9 switches, 2 mic clips, 1 aux power outlet, a few bus bars & fuse blocks, and 2 cup holders.

Message: I do and I don't. I took pics before the installation when the console had a brushed aluminum finish. Didn't like the look, so I'm having it powder coated matte black to match the dash trim (still waiting to get it back). I will try and post a few pics on my website tonight of the empty bench seat -- with gobbs of electrical wiring -- and the brush finished console.

Message: Hi,
I have a set of 1999 Dakota extended cab bucket seats that I will be putting in my '31 Ford Model A Tudor. My problem is the Drivers side (power) seat fell over on its side breaking the gear and lever for the rear seat release. Dodge says that they only sell the entire seat track assembly which costs about $250.00. As I have already taken the seat apart and removed this "plastic" gear(split in 2) I was wondering if any body knew where I could get just this gear or maybe a used track assembly less the motor for parts (my motor works great)?
Thanks,
Pete
