Hey Lesley, can you do me a favor, take a close-up shot (but not to close) of the new corners after you install them? I have only seen them by themselves on e-bay, etc.. and the ones on peoples rides are too far away to get a good shot.

Thanks

Yes it did. It also came with 2 little square amber discs, what are they for? Also, how in the heck did you get those screws to budge? I've tried 3 different screwdrivers, I'm about to try dire measures (swear words with 3 syllables).

Relax, Lesley!

You gotta get a thin T-10 torx screwdriver. Torx is a star shaped end that many manufacturers now use for their fasteners, not so much flat-head or phillips screws used anymore. T-10 is the size of the torx screw that is used for the corner lights. T-10 is the smallest (I think?) size in Torx screws and I think it's probably the least used. I have 7 sets of torx bits and only one went down as low as T-10. It was a 1/4in. drive socket with a T-10 torx bit slipped into the socket. This combo wouldn't work for me because the 1/4in. adapter was too wide to fit in that narrow crevasse between the lights. I removed the bit from the 1/4in. socket and put it in a 1/4in. magnetic insert for a screwgun (thin insert) and did it that way.

Jeez, I'm probably confusin' the hell outta you, sorry. Just trying to help. Kind of hard to describe. If you want I can take some pics of the bits & E-mail them to you so you can print them and take the pic to the store and say "give me one of these". LOL.

BTW I just found more torx bits and one is a T-8 so I guess they do go smaller, got so many damn tools I lose track of them, LOL.

LOL! No, I think I can find one tomorrow. I wish I had that many tools! I have one heck of a nice drill :), but not too many screwdrivers - in fact the primary tool I used when removing the stock air box and installing my new intake was a butter knife! Thanks - I'm pretty determined, they will be going on tomorrow :)

BTW, I have no clue what those discs are used for. Maybe someone else does.

But I do know that you will need two more of the 3157 amber bulbs and two of the smaller flashbulb-sized 194 amber bulbs for the install.

Sorry, got so long-winded in the first reply that I forgot to answer the first question, LOL.

Clevite77,

If you back up a bit on the thread, I think someone that goes by 'smokindakota' made a reference to the headlights.

BTW I used your bearings in all the small block Chevys that I built thru the years;-)

Well, I got them on, and it wasn't hard at all, just fiddly. Just a couple of words of advice... this probably doesn't apply to the newer daks, but I have heard this from other 97 guys. The smallest amber light housing has 4 tabs that fit into 4 openings on the stock corners. On the new ones, there are only two. Someone else (I think it was Intense Chuck) used a dremel to enlarge the opening. For now, I just tucked them back out of the way. The openings for the bulbs come with glued on paper tags saying "R" & "L" (thanks, but I think we can figure that out) They are glued on there pretty good, careful they don't fall inside and adhere to the inside of the light... it is a bit@h to get it out! (coat hanger, pliable wire & 25 minutes)

I picked up 2 little amber bulbs for those corner lights (the ones that wouldn't go into the new part, so I had tucked them back out of the way). I also grabbed a pair of nippers, and rather than drill or dremel out the hole in the new clear corners, I just clipped off the two extra tabs on the bulb holder. No problem, it slid right in.
