Subject: switching to center console IP: Logged
Message: I have the split bench 40/60, and wanted the
R/T style center console, what mods, if any
would I have to do? Would I need to buy new
bucket seats, and buy a stock console, or are
there mounting problems I will run into?

Message: The 40/20/40 bench seat in the front is just two bucket seats with a "jump" seat between them. The mounting feet are riveted together at the bottom to make all three one assembly. I would think that you could unbolt the inner feet on the buckets on either side, grind off the head of the rivets and remove the jump seat between the two.
I was considering this myself, when looking for a place for a CD changer to be mounted. I wonder if the wiring harness for the console is present?
