 Subject: Power Locks on Fiberglass Lid

My 1997 Dakota has a fiberglass SnugTop Lid (as you can see in my profile picture).
I was wondering if anyone has put power locks on their lid so that when they unlock the doors with a remote (mine would be from my Clifford Alarm remote) it would unlock the lid too.
Has anyone done this? How did you run the wires covertly (so no one can see them)? Also, do you have any pics (not necessary of the install, but the finished product)?

Paul, I just got thru doing this to my ARE
cover. I bought 2 door lock actuators and
some nylon blocks. Mounted the blocks to the
cover. Got some aliminum rod to slide thru the
blocks. I will get you a picture. I also added a
tailgate lock. When I lock the truck it locks 7
locks at once. The truck almost shakes.

A.R.E. actually has a kit that you can buy to make the locks electric on their LSII tonneau cover. When you order a cover from them, it's an option. Also, you can order the kit after the fact for about $110 Canadian.

I love my SnugTop Lid. I like the styling of them the best too. No leaks, very durable, and as for locks I think the double locking system is the best out there.
