I spoke with a salesman at Nu Image, and the new 2001-2002 gauge faces are finally complete, and being packaged as this note is being typed. We can get an amazing deal on a group buy, and I for one am going to take advantage of this. If we get a total of 25 orders or more, we can get any of the following gauge faces for $70.00 plus $5.00 shipping! That's at least $40+ off of retail price, and by far the cheapest I've ever seen gauge faces available. The salesman said they do not do individual direct sales, so he requested that people do not call individually for this group buy. I'd like to get the ball rolling on this as soon as possible, as he said hey will be back from packaging within 2 weeks at most, so I'm going to get this group buy moving!

These are just general representations of what the gauges will look like. Most are from the 1997-2000 Dakota/Durango gauges, the 2001-2002 models will have the 7000rpm tachometer. The black flame demo is from a Chevy pickup, but will be available for 2001-2002 Dakota/Durangos.

Because I don't want to have to fiddle with waiting however many business days it takes to wait for a check to clear (I can't afford to get burned by even a single check), I will only accept money orders ($75.00), or Paypal ($77.50 to cover the 2.9% + $.30 they charge for credit card transactions). I plan on having this group buy submitted either before or by 2/1/01 as long as enough orders have been placed and funds received. I'll try to answer any questions people might have, but I'm not a retailer - I'm just an owner trying to get us all a new product at what has been quoted at an amazing price, and I'm not making a single penny off this.

Here are some more photos that were sent to me by Nu Image, to hopefully give a better idea as far as colors go. The sales rep also mentioned the platinum gauges are a bit darker into the greyish-silver range than they appear in pictures, the camera's flash makes it appear whiter than they really are.

The platinum gauges are greyish-silver, with a satin (slightly textured) finish. Per Nu Image, the shading of the Platinum is darker than the photograph shows, because the camera's flash makes it appear white. I'm personally ordering a Platinum gauge face as part of this group buy.

Unfortunately there's no plans to make the black w/flames face for the 1997-2000 models at this time - only the white face, white w/flames, or platinum.

If your truck is 2001 or newer, the gauge you would receive would have the 7000rpm tachometer - the pictures aren't exact matches of what you'd see unless you have a 1997-2000 year and the picture was from a Dakota. Unfortunately there is no gauge face for the few 2000 owners who received the 7000rpm tach.

From articles I've seen on this website, the Delphi R/T forum, and Nu Image's own tips page, it should be a relatively easy install. I'll make sure that I forward every bit of advice I can find from the web with every order.
The best advice I've seen regarding the needles is to turn on your truck, and mark where your needles point at idle on the posts. The needles themselves just slip off the posts, and pop right back on when you're done. Marking it at idle is supposedly more accurate than trying to figure out where the needles are when pegged when the truck is off.

Does anyone make a cover plate that seperates the guages for a 2000 . i know the 2001s have the guages seperated. could you use a plate from one of the 2001 4.7 dak on a 2000 ?

I am sitting at approximately 28 orders thus far, and new inquiries coming in daily. Right now it's just a matter of having the funds received and cleared by the 2/1/02 submission date. There are plates that exist... www.billetsuperstore.com offers a billet aluminum overlay, but it'll cost you $49.99 plus $16.00 s/h... I'm still trying to find other overlays, I know other people have some but I don't know the cost. To be honest, if you want white gauges where only the gauge face itself is white, you'd be better off getting the NR Auto gauges for 1997-2000. They're more expensive than the Nu Image group buy, but only the gauges themselves are white, the rest is blacked out. I'll still post the info if I find a better overlay for older models. The 2001-2002 year vehicles came with their own black overlay.
