Message: I know on GM cars & trucks the manual tells you to push down on the EmBrake to the frist notch this doesn't set the brake but shuts the Running lamps off.
Don't know if this works for our DAKs or not

Message: it works but it would kill me to know im driving
with the brake engaged, even very little. There
must be a bypass. if i disconnect that pin on
the emergency brake arm(the one that signals
the brake is engaged) it will turn off the
daytime runners but will also light up the
emegency brake light. Annoying!

Message: I am asuming that you live in or near Canada ?
If near you must have got a DAK intended for Canada.
They require DRL's in Canada but not in the US.
Did you try looking in the fuse boxes under the hood for a fuse or a relay just for the DRL's ?
It can't be to complicated if they just leave them off the US ones.
good luck

Message: So I tried the fuse thing, some complications.
When #4 is pulled the only one that has
anything to do with headlamps, it disables the
sde markers (front and back) and the guage
backlighting. Not too good. Anyone have the
2001 manual and can give me some direction
as far as wiring?

Message: I am in vancovuer, I have my DRL's dissconected via the fuse that is designated for the drl's 97 to 99 only, my friend with a 00 disconected the drl controller(black box) near the headlights, which stoped making them work.

Message: TEAMFAST - In the fuse panel in the engine compartment it should be labelled which fuses are the DRL, like I said above my 98 had its own fuse for the DRL's while my friends 00 R/T Has the DRL's matched with the driving lights or something. If I had my truck I would let ya know what location my fuse is at. I should have it back this week, hopefully by wed.
