So opinions anyone? Like it, Hate it? Think its ok? Think it sucks???? Just looking for some response here.....
BTW on the final kit, the rollpan should be painted to match and teh exhaust piping will not be visbable like it is on the prototype, MBRP is making a fully finished bolt on exahust kit to match the Proglass rollpan.

Message: I think it looks good, and probably is a good rollpan but I wouldn't buy it if you have more than a 3"-5" drop on your truck. You will drag the heck out of the exhuast tips. I have always prefered metal rollpans over urethane or fiberglass.

Kota, the rollpan is being produced by proglass and the exhaust kit is being made by MBRP. I will be offering a special, "introductory buy" on them for the first 10 and the pricing will be very nice! Just drop me an email off list.

Message: Jonas, 2 things wrong there:
1)Forcing the customer to remove his spare. That being done he either has to put it in the bed(using up space there) or go without one altogether. Neither choice is acceptable for me(personal preference mind you).
2)Tips are mounted at the low point of the pan and your truck isn't even what I'd call that low. Guess what happens the first time you try to back into a driveway with any significant amount of incline? Yup. Flatten those babies right out. Angling only gets you around some of those obstacles. I used to rub the Cuda style proglass pan in the middle on occasion and you're taking away another couple of inches of clearance.
Center exit isn't my cuppa, but that's neither here nor there.

Message: Bob, its all form vs function.
If you look at it, most people who do rollpans generally use a tonneau cover too, and quite a few already put the spare in the back. Others (espically those in the city) put the rear tire under the tonneau to avoid theft. But your right some people wont want to remove the spare.
Actually that pan is built off of a proglass pan, but the license plate box is moved upward, and then the license plate box was also shortened. The truck is not "lowered" but it does have the stock R/T suspension on it. But yes, it you ran the pan with a 5-6 drop you would be dragging a$$ the whole way..
D, we actually have another guy looking into the cost of the boxter tips.. and/or you could always go to your local porsche shop and pick one up.. I think that may look cool too.
Those are a 3.5 inch tip, but if you wanted to use something smaller you could reduce the space from exhaust to ground.

Message: Well, I just installed another Proglass over the weekend:
http://www.dnai.com/~bobm/images/pan_full3.JPG
Comparing that photo to yours, you'll see the overall height of the pan at the center is unchanged. To me, yours actually looks taller in the middle. The shortening you did was in the horizontal dimensions of the plate box. Not gonna help the clearance issue I'm afraid.
Have you tested this trying to back up into an incline? I assume you have the only proto. Stock height trucks are not going to be a problem, but Hotchkis lowered will be a concern.

Message: Bob, I wish I had got some measurements off it before I shipped it out.
Actually, the license plate box is just slightly raised on the top, but on the original proglass the plate has about 3/8 inch space at the top of it where the GTS does not (the plate is moved up, so that the exhaust can sit up into the rollpan more.
Overall the GTS pan probally sits right at the same vertical height as the regular proglass pan, with approximately 1.5 inches of tailpipe below it.
That setup was tested and driven on a stock R/T suspension and had no problems at all. I wish I could have tested it on a hotchkis but did not have one to do so on.
I would think you may be ok with hotchkis, but definately anything lower you have a good chance of scraping on.

Message: "I would think you may be ok with hotchkis, but definately anything lower you have a good chance of scraping on."
My point was the Proglass pan scraped on the center section with the Hotchkis over moderate incline transitions. Severe transitions had to be avoided at all costs. You have taken out 1.5", by your own estimation, of clearance. Common sense says it will srape even more, but on your chromed tips instead of the bottom edge of a fiberglass pan. That's probably not desirable.
I point this out not to trash the product or design, just to alert people to the issues they will have to contend with. Much easier to consider them before they have it installed than to be fielding phone calls from irate customers who were told clearance was not an issue. Lowered trucks almost always have clearance issues of one type or another. Comes with the territory.

As far as the tips go, well diffrent people like diffrent things. If everybody liked the same thing, we all would be driving Dak's. I think it should sell well with the low riders. ( just my opinion )
Have you thought of making the same style pan with diffrent exhaust openings? Also, anything to fit the GEN 2 Dak's?

Message: FINALLY IN PRODUCTION:
Just an update: We finally got the rollpan and the exhaust into production. The exhaust was finished with the help of Kevin Osborn by MBRP and was completely re-done. The finished product is a MBRP full T-304 stainless mandrel bent catback system with their single-in dual out 20" stainless oval muffler, and two intercooled stainless tips. The rollpan was finished out and is produced by profinish-proglass (same maker as the cuda, the shaker hood, etc). The rollpan comes complete with a recessed flat panel license plate light.
I have the full kit on my truck now, but wont have painted pics available till tuesday (7-16-02).
WE are going to do a intorductory buy on these if anyone is interested..
Also in response to the lowered question.. I now have hotchkis on the company truck, and had no problem with some pretty steep inclines.. Im going to measure some angles.. but really unless your extremely low.. it shouldnt be an issue.

Message: Jonas, yours is with a 29" dia tire and no added blocks with the Hotchkis. That must be taken into consideration as well, since a significant percentage of people add blocks in addition to the Hotchkis.
A 275/35/20 tire and a 1" block to level the rear and you lose 1.6+" of clearance. Doesn't make it a deal killer. Just another data point.
