Message: i got a 7863 alpine headunit and it's bad ass betta than any pioneer or sony..anyway in your truck you have a internal amp..you will have to hook the internal amp wire and the external amp wire both blue for your subs together with the headunit amp wire.i had to do this to mine..

Message: Make sure that you used the Blue with white stripe. On Alpine head units, the outputs for the remote turn-on is different than most.

Message: Sorry to bring back an old post but I am having the same exact problem.
I just installed a new Alpine head unit and when I use the tuner, BOTH the speakers and the subs are working. When I use the CD player, only the subs are working.
What dubbedakota said makes some sort of sense, and I did tap into the Blue with white stripe wire as Glenn Littrel suggested. This did not solve my problem.
Am I missing a simple step? Did I tap the correct wire(blue w/white stripe on the black harness)?
BTW, I have a 2000 Dakota with the Infinty System?
Any suggestions?

Message: For all Alpine units made in China, the sound quality is pretty bad, and the mechanical problems exists....However, the ALpine units that are made in Japan is exceptionaly good...There are several new units available, CDA-7897, CDA-7998 and DVA-7996...
Another problem is that, Alpine head units tend to pull sounds to the PASSENGER side of the vehicle...If you listen from the driver's seat, the sound from left side is not tight enough, and the right side is LOUD...if you listen from the passenger seat, the only thing you can hear is the right side speaker....However, if you listen from the rear seat at the middle, the sound is exactly in the center....don't know why that is...I have tested it with DVA-7996, CDA-7893, and CDA-9811....in 3 different cars(a Civic, a TL, and a CL), all doing the same thing...Anybody has the same experience?

Message: I think I know why. It's because the left speaker is normally not blocked and facing the driver directly. The driver's side speakers are facing the passenger and are blocked by the driver's legs, pants, etc. If you were to sit in the passenger seat, you would find that the same thing happens, but on the other side.

Message: I have a CDA-7839E head unit and CHA-S624 stacker. The unit has also a single CD option. When the single CD is playing the volume can be adjusted as normal up and down 1 to 35 but when the stacker is in operation it can turn down to 1 but it is loud on 1 and doesnt go any louder if you turn it up as if it is preset. And if you go to zero, the volume goes off and you hear nothing. If anyone can help that would be great. As I bought this 2nd hand I do not have a book with it. It used to be hooked up to an equallizer before as well, and isnt now.

Message: most aftermarket radios have two 12v output wires, one for amp, one for power ant. If your radio works than well u hooked up the power ant, it only supplies power when the radio is on, which i what causes the ant to go down, or in your case, turns ur amp off, so you need to use the amp remote wire. Its blue with white stripe, it supplies 12 with when the player is turned on. Common mistake for novice installers.

Message: I had the same prob. swapped out my jvc for my alpine, the alpine had a few extra wires and my subs didnt work with a CD either. i would suggest ripping everthing apart, and hardwiring everything, wire harnsses suck. and yes MAKE SURE YOU USE THE BLUE/WHITE WIRE FOR REMOTE! also check for something dumb too like a bad or loose ground or wire. you never know its better to check that shtuff first, stupid people always work twice as hard. i havent had a problem since but that fixed my sub problem and my headunit not working with a good fuse.

Message: Dude. I had the same problem when I switched to an alpine deck. It has to do with the factory amp. Just switched from the blue wire to the blue/white wire and it should work.
