Subject: Installing Fog Lights IP: Logged
Message: A friend of mine gave me a pair of fog lights off his car that he had wrecked. He only gave me the actual lights though, and the car is long gone. What do I need to buy to install these and where. I would also appreciate a run through of how to install these. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Message: a lot of fog lights install differently, and if you had to order the parts for those fogs then it'd cost you more than a new set from autozone or pepboys! I'd say it's pretty much hopeless. I hate to burst your bubble but it's a lost cause, just buy some new ones.

Message: as far as mounting them, couldnt really help ya much cuz I would have to see them, but for the wiring part of it there are several ways of doing it depends how you want the switch to work and all that but you can buy a fog light kit (without lights) at autozone or checker autoparts, it comes with a switch, relay, wires all you need. You can save some cash if you wire up a relay yourself, if you need help as far as that just email me and I'll send ya some diagrams.

Message: I bought a pain of fog lights at Autozone. I did the wiring and cut out the holes for the lights. I tried to screw in the lights but it wasn't working the way I wanted. I went the backyard way and screwed them in the best I could. I tried to give them a snug fit and then I put super glue all around the light. I used a whole tube of it. I just put my Dak in a ditch and only one of them fell out. Super Glue works wonders!

Message: You can get everything from radioshack.
You are not screwed with those lights.
All you need is the wiring and a relay.
I have my lights wired to come on when
my parking lights come on. ALl you need to do
this is again the wires and the relay. The relay
that you will need is a four wire relay. With this i mean you need one for ativation wich you can run a wire from the activation plug to your fuse panel inside for the parking lights. then you need a wire running to your baterie from the relay. Then you will use the last relay outlet left to power your lights. you will need ofcourse to ground the lights and the relay. Trust me on this i struggled with this for a long time. I cut the holes out my self. I used the spray on foam. That you spray on and hold the lights in place and then wait like 10 mins and the foam hardens into place
