I have a Gen also, and I have'nt seen it, but I'd be curious to see that too. I've also seen Speedtweeks.net advertise 20"RT wheels just coming out....THAT would look trick. I wonder if anyone who has those on a GEN II or III has any picks out there. Will they fit on a lowered GEN II?

RT wheels are 9" wide, and the fender room for the GenII is limited. That is why the GenIII has the bulges over fender areas, to make room for wider tires. Also GenIII has different front end suspension and that also allows for wider rims and tires. After market look-alikes may be the better choice here.

Ive not only seen a Generation II Dakota with the R/T rims on the Internet, but I have also seen it here in town. Although the one I saw in town wasn't exactly a prime choice to look at when considering doing this. Heh.
But yeah, if done properly you can fit any Generation III style rim on a Generation II.

Yes,it CAN be done. But try to do it right. One guy here in AZ put spacers on the front to move the wider tires out a little, to clear the frame, etc. BUT, check with a good front end alignment man (not the guy who does it at the tire store)and he may tell you about added stress on bearings, front end suspension components, etc. Gen II grease cups stick out a little more than Gen III as well. I tried to put GenIII 15x8 rims on my 95 2wd and found out all about the problems. Don't know about 4wd, or taller rims, but I have been down the "wider rims and tires" road.
