Hey Scotty,
A word of warning to you. I have met VERY FEW people with clear tail lights that have not been pulled over for having them. The cops really don't like them. Some people have been pulled over multiple times. The look is nice, but you got to decide if the cost of tickets is worth the look! Just my two cents.

I've been tempted to pick up a set of the totally clear tails, but they are illegal - DOT doesn't support them so it's federally outlawed.

Yeah I got a set, (not for sale though), and I love them, but I have been pulled over. Just make sure when you get a set to have RED bulbs, and not the orange-red ones that come with them.. Thats what pissed the cops off not the lenses.. I had one cop tell me he liked em' and asked where i got em' cause he wanted a set for his durango. (i didn't correct him, for the dak-durango error). Clear is phat.

If you can get them for a Dak somewhere.. Chances are you can get them for a Durango @ the same place. I haven't looked but are they the same lense?

Dakotas and Durangos share the same front headlights and fog lights, but not the same tail lights. The Durango's lights are slightly bigger and more rounded, almost like the Chevy SUV's pre-Trailblazer.

Yeah as long as you have the RED bulbs you are usually fine.. ive been pulled over many times by cops - ONLY when the bulbs started to fade and didnt show all red. Otherwise i had more cops say the liked them than did not like, but they just wanted to warm me from some of the More Butthead cops "AS HE STATED" haha that might try and harass me for the faded bulb... Ill have my clears for sale here soon if anyone is interested in them.. www.dakotafever.com you can see them.. im going to be shaving the taillights soon along with many other mods here before december is up...But as far as finding a new set..its pretty hard now since APC has discontinued them and gone with the altezzas

I have seen in magazines and on some cars were there will be a little square of red on the taillights. in like the bottom corner, and those are dot approved for street use.
can this section of red be added to make clear tailights legal?

I have the clear taillights and have been pulled over a couple times for them. I have now put a strip of red reflector tape along the bottom of the lense(just above the reverse light part of the lense) This still isnt fully legal because you are not allowed any white reflectors on the back, but if you covered all the white ones with red, your whole lense would be pretty well red. so it would be pointless. Mine doesnt look bad at all because its so small on the lense (1 inch tall, and as wide as the lense) ill get picks to put up soon.

Scotty, Where in the USA are you? If you are in Northwestern Ohio, Southern Michigan area, and would be willing to trade your stock taillights for the clears, I would be willing. Now, these have been on my truck since october and were on my old Dak from January until october. They are still in great condition, still clear, no cracks. Let me know. you know..... I never been pulled over for my clears yet and I had them on for almost a year. Different culture in mizura I guess. And I got the full clears... no dot ..nothin! just red bulbs
Now that I said something.... I'll probably get pulled over tommorow

Everyone with the clear lenses, what type of bulbs are you using??? i was using just some apc red bulbs, but the top and bottom kept fading and turning half the light yellow instead of red. Now i have some leds which work great at night, but in the day they are too direct and dont light up the whole lense. Does anyone have bulbs that work well in the day??

I use red spray can. Works great for about 6 month. I'm gonna try the high temp next time just to see if its any better. I had the APC as well but they faded in about a month

I don't think they make euro's for under 97. If they do they aren't to old. Most of the euro's and stuff are all for newer aged vehicles.
